How do I Register?
There are three ways to sign up for our League. The first (and recommended ) way is to complete the online sign-up process. The second is to download the registration from at the bottom of our homepage, paperclip (no staples) a cheque made payable to "Kingston Attack". for 169.00 and mail it to the address on our website. Our Mail in Registration opens every year on January 1st and closes the last day of February.. Please take advantage of the online registration as the sooner you are signed up the better. You can always meet with us at one of our walk-in events as well.
How will I know if the Kingston Attack! has received my Registration Form?
Please review your bank account to see if we have withdrawn your monies from your account. Please keep in mind we do not make daily deposits, so it may take a week or two before the money is withdrawn.
Who Picks the teams?
The Kingston Attack! Executive group picks the teams. In an effort to keep all the teams balanced as much as possible we evaluate new players by the information parents provide on the Registration Form. Returning players have already been evaluated by their previous Ball Hockey Coach. We try our best to make the teams are fairly balanced as possible.
When will I hear from my coach?
You will get a phone call from your Coach the weekend before the Season begins. We are starting the last week of April. We have the Coaches meeting on the Tuesday night the week before our Season begins. The team lists are handed out to the coaches and they are encouraged to call their players ASAP. You should hear from your coach by the Sunday night before our League begins. Your coach will let you know the date, time and location of your first game. When you show up at your first game (at least 1/2 hour before game time) you will be handed your team shirt, your schedule and a Receipt for the Child Fitness Tax Credit.
When does the Season start and end?
We are going to start the last week of April. You will mostly play once thru the week, Monday thru Thursday. We do not play on Fridays or weekends! In an effort to conclude our Season before the Canada Day weekend there may be some weeks you play twice.
Do you only play games?
The Kingston Attack! only schedules games. Your coach may have a couple of practices during the beginning of the year. The only exception to this is our IP Program (3 and 4 year olds). Every week our IP kids have a 1/2 hour on floor instructional time followed by a 1/2 hour game, played the width of the floor.
When are the dates and times of the games and where are they played?
You will have your first game the last week in April. Our full length games (Novice and above) are formatted with two 18 minute, and a 15 minute period. We have no games before 5.30pm, allowing time for parents to get home after work and have something to eat. We play at the Cataraqui and Kinsmen arenas, located on Sydenham Road.
My child has never played hockey before, is that a problem?
Not at all! We have all different levels and skills of players out with us on a weekly basis.
Is there a Rep Team? If so how do the players get selected to be on the team?
The Kingston Attack! sends teams to the Provincial Championships. They are held in a different city every year. Our Rep Team coaches scout all of the players in our League by attending games and picks based on what they see. The Kingston Attack! Leadership does not have any influence on the coaches during the selection process. We pick the coaches, they pick the teams.
Is the first game an actual game? Or is there a practice first?
With the exception of our IP Program, the first floor-time we schedule is going to be a game. We suggest showing up at least a half-hour early to the first game. Your Coach has schedules, memos, shirts among other things to hand out to all the players and their parents. Your coach may have a practice before your regular Season begins. You should ask your coach when they phone if there is going to be a practice first.
What about refunds?
To obtain a refund you must submit an email. Please include the following; your name and name of your child, your child's birth date, the email address associated with your paypal account, and your mailing address. Refunds requested will receive a full refund minus a $20 administration fee. Any refunds after the first game day will be on a pro-rated basis. No refunds will be granted after child's team third session.
